Three Californians

Tim Burton
Tim Burton was born on August 25, 1958. He is a Californian film director, producer, writer and artist. He drew at an early age and studied animation. After school he worked for Disney who gave him a chance to make Vincent and Frankenweenie-the short version.
He likes to work with actor Johnny Depp who has acted in some of his films like Beetlejuice, Edward Scissorhands, Alice in Wonderland, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and Corpse Bride. Some of my favorite movies that he has done are Nightmare Before Christmas, Corpse Bride, James and the Giant Peach, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Frankenweenie and his short film Vincent. Maybe I even like Alice in Wonderland.

Tim Burton likes to make spooky movies and I like to them too because they are not boring. He makes cool characters who are not perfect, even creepy. He even made a few movies based on the books of Roald Dahl. I think they would have been good friends.

Dr. Seuss
He was a Californian writer, poet, and cartoonist. He was born in La Jolla near San Diego. His real name is Theodor Seuss Geisel. He made 46 children's books, like Green Eggs and Ham, Cat in the Hat, Oh the Places you'll go,  Horton Hears a WhoHorton Hatches and Egg, How the Grinch Stole Christmas, The Lorax, and many more. He worked as an illustrator, political cartoonist, and worked in the animation department of the U.S. Army. He won the 1947 Academy Award for best documentary. Like me, he was a perfectionist and would spend a year making a book. His March 2 birthday is National Read Across America Day. My dad's book Our California is this years Read Across America book for California.

Jack Black

Jack Black is a Californian actor, producer, comedian, voice talent, writer, and musician. Some of his films are Kung Fu Panda, Gulliver's Travels, Nacho Libre, School of Rock, King Kong and many others. In Kung Fu Panda his voice of Po really makes the character come alive. His voice and face are different in Nacho Libre. It's a very funny movie, and I like it when he Sings at the Party. Gulliver's Travels is based on the book by John Swift. It's another funny movie. Some really fantastic parts is when Gulliver's boat goes through a storm and get's sucked into a vortex, when he wakes up on an island with tiny people called The Liliputions, when he rescues the princess and put's out the fire, when he attack's the ships, when he end ends-up in the world of giants and when fights the robot.
