It's Spring Break and I have been reading, writing and drawing.
That's me riding through fields of wildflowers on Coronado Island.

Viva Vivaldi!

This past week our class went to see Viva Vivaldi. I have always loved the stringed instruments and completed this drawing.

Midsummer Night's Dream

In class we have been studying William Shakespeare and Mom and I read Midsummer Night's Dream. I drew this portrait using black prismacolor pencil.

First Snow

Well it took 9 years of living in California but I finally got up to see my first snow. Here are some photos of me frolicking in the mountains and the snowman named Morris I built with snow that made it home. He now lives in our freezer because I did not want him to melt.

Loving Leonardo

I have been reading a chapter book about Leonardo Da Vinci and mom and I went to the computer to see his famous painting.
I decided to just remember it in my mind then went downstairs to make this drawing and write out her name.

It's Greek to me

Having just turned 9 a love for all things Greek continues for Santiago with this drawing of a noble ship.

My first gallery show at Nickelodeon in Los Angeles

This December I got to put two of my drawings in my very first gallery show at Nickelodeon in Los Angeles. Mike who saw this blog and draws cartoons for some of their shows invited me and my work is above and below the sign in the middle. My drawings sold and I decided to give the money to my school to build a library. There was some great art by children there and I'm so happy I got to show others how much I love drawing.

Drawing is what I do the first thing in the morning when I wake up. I put on my robe and slippers and sneak downstairs while Mom and Dad are still asleep.

When the hear the pencil sharpener go wwwwrrrrrrrrrrr! my parents know I am up and busy doing my favorite thing.
